Modeling and Simulation, covering both, modeling and identification in the process industry, and development of continuous simulation tools and process simulators.
Process optimisation from the point of view of plant wide control with economical implications and optimisation methods.
Computer Aided Control Systems Design and educational systems.

The Engineering Systems and Automatic Control Department was founded in 1973. It now includes departmental sections at the Faculty of Science, the University Polytechnical School, the Industrial Engineering School and the Telecommunication School. The information contained in this server corresponds to the Faculty of Science group, researching in Automatic Control, and lecturing in the Physics, Computer Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and various Technical Engineering degrees.
